Each player begins the game with 12 flat and round pieces, call checkers, each player starts with 12 checkers on the first three rows, opposite side of the board. The goal of Checkers, is to remove all of your opponent's checkers by "jump" over their piece with one of yours and jumping is mandatory or position your pieces so that your opponent has no available moves. Basic movement is to move a checker one space diagonally forward. If one of your pieces gets to the opposite side of the board, it will turn into a King. Kings can move and jump diagonally in any direction. You win by removing all of your opponent's pieces from the board, or if your opponent can't make a moves.
